Lightshow

A lot of venues suffer from a lack of quality, modern lighting elements. Most have tons of Par64 (the usual 'spot') available; Unfortunately, these elements have a number of negative factors such as a high temperature of the metal frame, the need to replace the lamp, and on top of this a heavy electricity usage. Only a select few have more modern 'intelligent' light structures, and close to none work with the more modern technology, L.E.D. light.

Nowadays, newer technologies following the older DMX pattern (in which any number  of elements can be 'daisy chained' one to the other) have arisen using small L.E.D. lighting elements. These have a standard lifespan of 100.000 hours, have NO heat loss whatsoever, and on top of this have an electricity usage of 15 to 20W, essentially being far less than a regular lightbulb for home usage. As of 2008 Je m'en fish mixes these newer technologies (such as RGB Par64's with L.E.D.) with standard elements. As the technology progresses, we hope to be able to switch over to solely L.E.D.-based elements.

3 main ways to work with us regarding our lighting material:

1. Je m'en fish is a full partner for the event: We are involved in all communication and production decisions, our logo is used, we are fully credited, young artists are given a chance: There is no fee for this kind of coproduction.
Please note: contacting us and discussing a coproduction/partnership for an event, then later step back on agreements (for instance, cancelling 1 or several Belgian young artists without our consent while retaining all headliners, or upping the entrance fee by a large margin) will automatically pass the 'partner' into category three and demand a flat-out payment for all rendered services. Refusal to do so will necessitate the removal of all logo's and mentions of Je m'en fish in any communication.

2. Je m'en fish is not a full partner in the event, but the event is mostly geared towards young talent and new arts. The organiser can provide a full listing of name and age of participants. There is no or a minimal fee for the event and it is not geared towards a financial gain: Je m'en fish will supply it's lighting elements for free, but the installing + handling of the material will be refunded by the organiser under the legal fee for volunteers for our organisation (30,22 euro/person as of 2009 - Events spanning a whole night need to take this amount into account for two full days).

3. Je m'en fish is no partner nor mentioned in any communication, no or a minimum of young talent or new media are represented, and the event has a substantial entrance fee, etc.: The default fee for this kind of event is refunding the light jockeys through the legal minimal fee for artistic performances (112,44 euro/person as of 2009).
