De VZW wordt vaak geconfronteerd met locaties die niet beschikken over, of geen kennis hebben van, de nodige apparatuur die gepaard gaat met jonge artistieke expressie op basis van nieuwe media. Soms wordt een volledige PA -installatie nutteloos ingeschakeld maar verstrekt de locatie bv. geen kwalitatieve mixer voor de laptop, enz.
De VZW ging over tot het voorzien van een volwaardige installatie van hoge kwaliteit. Deze is vrijwel onmiddelijk bruikbaar op elke audio-installatie waarover een locatie kan beschikken. Het is de bedoeling dat deze installatie een oplossing kan brengen aan boeiende initiatieven die uitgaan vanuit jeugdgroeperingen, die anders moeilijk of niet het daglicht zouden zien; Het is niet de bedoeling dat deze installatie een goedkoop alternatief vormt in het reguliere circuit of commerciële clubs, er moet een duidelijke blijk zijn van de integratie van jeugd in de werking of het evenement (n.b.: op regelmatige basis louter 1 formatie als voorprogramma inschakelen bij bekendere optredens of DJ-sets en hierbij een fixe toegangsprijs hanteren is niet een volwaardige kans laten aan jeugdgroeperingen en valt hier niet onder). Every so often (or, more often than not, actually), we are contacted for coproductions or faced with venue rental while no sufficient material is present. 90 percent of venues have a varyingly suited frontal soundsystem and monitors, most have minimal to no full set-up enabling various live projects while also allowing DJ-sets.
A logical set-up that enables both, while not needing to go for a full-blown PA system with accompanying audio technicians and similar, is entirely possible for laptop-based setups, MC'ing, and more. As such, we have decided to cater for the needs of the many with the following material. Our material is available to youth projects everywhere but to be clear: this is not rental material and is not available for mass commercial events, but is intended for small or medium-scaled events by & for young people. For reference: Opening up your whole venue to youth projects, including them in the process from start to finish is a youth project; Inserting one project as a 'warm-up' without much attention to a larger commercial concert/DJ-set and asking for a steep entrance fee is not.
